"Live march" in Poland

This year, the 25th anniversary has been the 25th anniversary of the first “living march” in Poland. The “live march” is three kilometers of the way along the terrible road from the Aushwitz camp to the Birkenau camp. Every year, thousands of people from around the world in memory of the tormented prisoners of these camps pass through her in silence.

The director, actor and screenwriter, chairman of the socio-cultural Jewish partnership in Poland Arthur Hoffman indicates the need to keep the memory of the tragic events of the Second World War:

"We always tried to honor places related to the Holocaust. Even when we did not want such memory in the Polish People’s Republic. Now the state is trying to maintain memory with us. If you lose your memory of what happened in its own history, in the history of Europe, you can get lost. As they said in my family after the war, nothing should be repeated again, you can’t repeat it again! But not everything is in order - Korea, the Middle East, in the Middle East, in the Middle East, in the Middle Age. Africa (in Rwanda) was a massacre that no one paid attention to in Europe.

In the first "living march" 25 thousand Jews took part 25 years ago. Then the "march" was held every two years, and since 1996 - annually.
