Navalny recalled that recently, as part of the implementation of Putin’s election promise, the so-called “Russian Public Initiative” was officially launched, which provides that citizens themselves can come up with legislative initiatives if 100,000 signatures are collected for this. Navalny suggests that the support of 100,000 citizens does not at all guarantee consideration of the initiative in the State Duma, since for this the authorities have provided for various “legal examinations” and “consideration by a state authority.”

Despite this, Navalny proposes to conduct a joint experiment on the use of the “Russian Public Initiative”. And “for testing” he proposes to take the RosPil bill on limiting the cost of cars for officials.

Navalny registered an initiative to ban officials and employees of companies with state (municipal) participation from purchasing passenger cars worth over 1.5 million rubles on the official website of the Russian Public Initiative. He recalled that he introduced not just an initiative, but an initiative with a ready-made bill.
