Levada: 55% against the election of Putin in 2018

“Levada-Center” published the results of a survey conducted in March: how the attitude of Russians towards Vladimir Putin changed a year after the election of his president for a third term.

The percentage of people who describe their attitude towards Putin as “admiration” and “sympathy” is now the lowest over the entire time of his reign: 2% and 18%, respectively. Only 30% cannot say anything bad about the president - also the lowest indicator since 2000. The number of those who treat it neutral, indifferent (22%) continues to grow steadily.

The rating of trust also continues to fall. A small correction last year has not changed the overall trend. Only 7% trusts Putin (in May 2008-28%), rather trusts 50% (56%), rather does not trust 25% (10%), does not trust at all-10% (2%).

Only 22% want to see Putin by the head of the country after 2018. 8% are ready to return Medvedev, 47% want someone else to come.

Would you like Putin after 6 years to be elected to the presidency of Russia for one more period - or so that after 6 years he was replaced by Medvedev - or another person?

To the direct question “Would you like to or do not want to see Putin by the president after the expiration of the current term, in 2018?” The answers were assigned like this: “I would like” - 34%, “I would not want” - 40%, “I find it difficult to answer” - 26%. True, at the same time, 49% of Russians believe that "that almost all power in the country will again concentrate in the hands of Vladimir Putin for the benefit of Russia."
