Krasnodar social activist Mikhail Savva was arrested for two months

The Oktyabrsky District Court of Krasnodar arrested for two months the director of the grant programs of the Southern Regional Resource Center Mikhail Savva. It is reported by "New Gazeta". The publicist is charged with part 3 of Article 159.2 of the Criminal Code (fraud upon receipt of payments using his official position). He faces up to five years in the colony.

The FSB claims that Savva is guilty of embezzlement of budget money received by the URC as a grant. The funds allocated by the Ministry of Social Development were distributed by the administration of the Krasnodar Territory. 366 thousand rubles were transferred to the center for a sociological study on the attitude of local residents to migrants. The FSB insists that in reality the study was not completed.

The charge under Part 3 of Article 159.2 was also charged with another employee of the URC - Victoria Remmler. Her phones have not been responding for several days. Meanwhile, it is Remmler that can be stored in the originals of profiles and questionnaires confirming that the study was actually performed.

The case against Savva and Remmler was opened on April 11. Prior to this, twice - March 14 and April 10 - the regional UFSB conducted searches in the URRC.

On April 12, at 6 a.m., the FSB came home with a search to Savva. Also, the security forces searched his garage. They seized all the carriers of the information, including the old cassettes and notebooks. After a six -hour search, the social activist was detained.

Later on Friday, members of the ONK regional ONC arrived in the FSB insulator with a check, but the Savva was not found there. Later it turned out that during the visit of the PMC, the detainee was in a car carrier on the territory of the regional UFSB, and on the night of Saturday was delivered to the city IVS.

Before the selection of a preventive measure at the building of the October Court, students and colleagues of Savva gathered, as well as journalists of the central media. The spouse of the social activist Elena said: "The accusation of fraud is just an excuse for arrest. Now for him other articles will be sought and, I am afraid, will initiate new things. For this, everything has been started."

Savva - Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor of the Kuban State University, deputy chairman of the Human Rights Council under the governor of the Krasnodar Territory.

On April 15, he was supposed to come to Moscow at a meeting of the Presidential Council for Human Rights in order to make a report on the inspections of the NPO in the Kuban.

The Southern Regional Resource Center was founded in 1996. Among its activities are the support of the Kuban NPOs, including the issuance of grants, the prevention of conflicts, and propaganda of tolerance.
