Navalny and crickets

Many Vyatchka residents are convinced that Bolotnaya spent two years using money stolen from the Kirov forest. Let us forgive them this delusion, dictated by local homespun patriotism. However, looking at the truth, what are these 16 million rubles charged to Navalny in the light of the figure announced by the president for NGOs’ receipts from abroad (28 billion over 4 months)? A ridiculous amount, only sufficient for a drunken brawl in a metropolitan restaurant.

It seems that the Kirovles case itself was invented only to use its example to show that the opposition does not even really know how to steal. Everything in her camp is primitive and wretched, the scale of the leaders is small, and among the criminals the case is the most ordinary, which does not even amount to business, just “business”. Look, in the party in power, minor figures easily kidnap an order of magnitude more, and this self-proclaimed leader intended to become a presidential candidate without even having such a second-rate scope. Everything that Navalny did in the criminal scheme attributed to him was marked either by inferiority or by the influence of the image of Yuri Detochkin: he insisted on an audit of the company that he had bankrupted, got his main accomplice fired, paid the bills... In general, it was as if he was showing off like a fraternity, but didn’t do things like normal boys do.

The choice of the Vyatka wilderness as the crime scene of a Moscow anti-corruption fighter and now his trial is also a form of mockery. After all, Kirov is akin to Chernomorsk, here a person with a couple of thousand is already considered a millionaire. It turns out that he revealed the secrets of gigantic financial flows at the very top, and is accused of ridiculous waste in a depressed region, where, as the characters in the popular film said, “everything has already been stolen before us.” Stealing 16 million from Vyatka (especially with multi-billion dollar infusions from abroad) is like putting a coin dropped by a beggar into your pocket, like taking away the last thing from a child.

It’s no wonder that Alexei Navalny was confused and fussed, not knowing how to confront the absurdity of the accusations. Well, who will read the gigabytes of materials that he has now posted in the public domain? Unless Judge Blinov, and even then unlikely. They were once studied by the Investigative Department of the Russian Federation for the Kirov Region and the Investigative Committee for the Volga Federal District, without finding any signs of a crime there. The human rights organization "Agora", which compiled the expert report, was unable to detect any illegality, damage to the owner, or selfish motive in them. The Politrash website, which certainly cannot be suspected of sympathizing with Navalny, even described the position of the investigation as not withstanding criticism, and is only waiting for a revelation from the investigators at the trial. However, the main miracle - Opalev's testimony - has already taken place; there is little hope for other miracles (evidence).

But at the same time, everyone agrees that the former adviser to the Kirov governor will definitely be imprisoned. This fact is not disputed even by Navalny himself. That is, everyone understands that the upcoming sentence is not an act of retribution for a specific crime, but an inevitable, harsh educational measure against a lost and presumptuous son of the Fatherland. It’s like a father beating a daring child with a belt “for the sake of science.” And what difference does it make why - he “hooliganized”, drank, smoked in public places, swore... He’s not a saint, really? It was enough that he teased and angered the authorities. Maybe he would be forgiven for this somewhere, but not in Russia, because, as our president likes to repeat, we need to know what country we live in. And in our country, every cricket should know its own nest, and the Kirovles case is needed not so much to punish Navalny, but Navalny’s punishment is needed to confirm the truth about crickets.
