Herring Day in Kaliningrad: how it happened
Traditionally, for the seventh year now, the season of mass celebrations in Kaliningrad opens on April 13, when Kaliningrad residents and guests of the city celebrate Herring Day on the Peter the Great embankment.
On this day, on five hundred square meters of the embankment, the concentration of people eating fish is simply off the charts.
Today's holiday was no exception - a huge amount of fish was eaten, prepared in a variety of ways. Anyone could not only taste fried herring, smoked bream or baked mackerel, but also buy fresh smelt, pike or salmon.
According to my calculations, about 3 thousand people attended Herring Day this year. In total, the event was attended by about ten thousand Kaliningrad residents.
I was in this place of the belly festival for an hour and a half, and this is what I saw:

Making my way through hundreds of people, I got out of the embankment, got on the bus and got into a huge traffic jam.
