About the arguments before the congress of the people in Ingushetia

As the scheduled day of the congress approaches in the Republic of Ingushetia, the issue of direct elections becomes increasingly acute. And here are the typical arguments of supporters of the appointment of regional heads:

“In some regions, in principle, I do not consider it possible to hold direct elections, because there, light a match, and everything will burst into flames. Probably, in the regions that have approached direct elections, there should also be criteria that they are ready for them - that they are successful , transparent, the level of corruption has been reduced,” believes the Chairman of the Parliament of Karachay-Cherkessia, Alexander Ivanov.

The reasonable constitutional and state component of the law triumphed... Of course, when the region was told only direct elections, it was wrong. And today subjects were given the right to choose an election model. We know examples when leaders of entire countries were elected by popular vote and then were cursed. Elections through electors, deputies, assume that each deputy represents one or another group of voters. He is endowed with the right to speak on behalf of the electorate... In the future, a situation may arise when it will be possible to “move to direct elections and the law has given such a right,” says Nikolai Alchiev, first deputy chairman of the People’s Assembly of Dagestan.

“I experienced several direct elections of our leaders - it was an orgy, a general, open and unscrupulous bribery of the population. And today the loudmouths are again saying that direct elections need to be held (in Ingushetia) - I think, with only one purpose - to somehow make money ", says one of the members of the Public Chamber of Ingushetia.

All these arguments are involuntarily permeated by one obsessive thought that no matter how much you enlighten some people or encroach on their freedoms, dignity and honor, they remain between the past and the present, afraid to think about the future.

They don’t want to go back because they’ve suffered enough and eaten too much to the point that they don’t want to. But they don’t want to soberly assess their present, fearing that things might get even worse! So they pretend that they did not notice how additions to the law create new preconditions for precedents of corruption, bribery of the population, and the opportunity to earn money and promote “their” person. I said before and will repeat now that it has been emasculated to the point of absurdity, becoming more and more criminal as a result of the changes and restrictions introduced. Judge for yourself, it stipulates that each party proposes three candidates to the President of the Russian Federation. Today, more than 50 parties are registered in the country! Let's say in our case we are talking about six to nine registered in the republic. This still means that the president of the country will receive at least 18 candidates, of whom he will select three and propose them to the republican parliament. If no one gets 50 percent there, then the choice will be between the remaining two. And so on until victory!

I think that there are few people in the republic who doubt that behind each of these candidates there will be the personal, selfish interests of all national elites of various kinds, and they will all use the same money and connections. Only this time the population will rest, as if they were immature or had lost the right to vote according to the age limit. He, like that old woman from a fairy tale in a modern version, will be destined for, at best, a broken trough, and his grandfather will be swallowed up by a cold wave of the sea. Well, the deputies of parliament and the entourage of the country's president will taste the goldfish.

And to argue that in this case there will be no or less bribery and bacchanalia is the same as behaving like in that joke where the restless wife annoyed the neighbors with her claims. There, in response to a neighbor’s question to her husband: “Well, why are you silent, you’re the owner of the house,” he slammed his fist on the table and angrily answered: “I agree with my wife on everything!” Bribery will be more sophisticated, and bacchanalia in such matters, unfortunately, becomes an objective component of all our initiatives.

The right to choose should be an inalienable right of any people! And the arguments given above by people who are not stupid in life, frankly speaking, are not sincere or fully conscious. I would call these apparent arguments profitably sold to the ruling elite. There is nothing creative behind them, but there is murderous stagnation, population degradation and obsessive hopelessness. Newly-minted adherents of the currently ruling national and supranational elites are trying to convince some peoples that they are not ripe for elections and for self-government, whereas from the very origin the entire life path of each people is nothing more than a choice. And only the past seventy years of Soviet power and the past ten years of the current one were deprived of it by someone else’s will. And note, neither then nor now, when the authorities did not interfere in this choice, nations never flared up, as some claim, from one lit match. Peoples do not bring troubles to themselves or to each other, they are brought by those who rule them.

Of course, as the creators of the law present to us, it gives the regions the opportunity to choose their own method of electing regional heads. But then the next question arises: why all these barriers, restrictions and amendments that turn it into a bottomless feeding trough for power? After all, even without them, if they deem it necessary, the people will use their inalienable constitutional right and turn to the president of the country with a request to send them a vassal. Only not a single people in this country turned to him! Doesn't this already speak about his expression of will?

But how concerned the ruling elite is with this issue and why is not difficult to guess. Today she organized this congress with one single goal: to establish herself in power for the next five years. And allowing her to push through her pre-prepared resolution on the abolition of direct elections at this congress means depriving her own people of face. And it is very easy for an impersonal people to be herded, sent to slaughter, executed and pardoned. As one of the former presenters said in a recent television program: “In Scotland, this method was used to corral a flock of sheep. A specially trained goat walked in front of the herd prepared for slaughter. He led his herd along a strictly verified route, led it into a narrow passage to the slaughterhouse and at the very the slaughterhouse dived into an imperceptibly opened side gate, and the herd, by inertia, continued to move towards its own death. Then the goat returned and repeated everything all over again... until the owner opened the side gate for him.”

I wouldn't wish such a fate on anyone! And for the edification of all these wise men who imagine themselves to be elected, I will say once again: the people will never voluntarily give anyone the right to abolish direct elections. This right can be stolen, as the Republican leadership is trying to do today, but it can never be given away at will. And if he succeeds, then rest assured that very soon the gate will close in front of his nose!
