
Google, by World Art Day, determined the most popular paintings on its Google Art project, the first place among which was taken by Vincent Van Gogh "Star Night", reports Digit.ru .
As part of the Google Art project, which was launched two years ago, Google specialists digitize collections of world museums and galleries, among which there are Russian ones - for example, Hermitage and the Russian Museum. In total, Google cooperates with more than 200 museums in 43 countries of the world, and in total the project has more than 40 thousand paintings.
According to Google statistics, Van Gogh is the most popular artist among visitors to the project. So, three more paintings fell into the top 10 - “bedroom in Arle” (4th place), “sunflower” (7th place) and “View of Arl with Irises” (9th place). The second and third places were taken by the paintings of Venus Botticelli and the Self -portrait Rembrandt, drawing at the window. "
Google Art users have the opportunity to create their own galleries, selecting the pictures they liked there. So, at the moment, about 360 thousand user galleries have been created, and total access is open to 14 thousand of them. According to representatives of Google, the paintings of the classics are of greatest interest among users, but interest in modern art is growing - artists Dali and Klimt became one of the most often requested.
According to company representatives, on average, users spend on studying paintings on the Google Art project for more than one minute, although visitors to ordinary museums examine paintings on average about 20 seconds.
