10 years ago, on April 17, 2003, Sergey Nikolaevich Yushenkov, a deputy of the State Duma and one of the leaders of the Liberal Russia party, was killed in Moscow. According to investigators, his murder was ordered by another co -chair of Liberal Russia, Mikhail Kodanev, and the motive was the desire to get sole access to the party finances.
At the trial of Kodanev and his accomplices, the Yuri Schmidt family lawyer said: "Yushenkov was perhaps the last political romantic in the representative power. Absolutely honest and in some way childishly naive."
