The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow arrested Magomed Karatov, one of the organizers of a group of “black collectors” who siphoned more than 100 billion rubles into the shadow sector of the economy, the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on Friday .

“During the operational search activities, the involvement of the co-owner of the private security organization “Karat-1” Magomed Omarovich Karatov in the criminal scheme for the collection of shadow funds was established,” the department reports.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was Karatov who “carried out the coordination and general management of the interregional ethnic community, whose members were engaged in cashing and illegally transporting money.” “As a result of their activities, more than 100 billion rubles were transferred to the shadow sector of the economy,” reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the department, before his arrest, Karatov was detained in Makhachkala and transferred to Moscow. Earlier, the defendant’s brother, Magomedrasul Karatov, was detained at Vnukovo airport while receiving more than 500 million rubles sent on a flight from Dagestan under the guise of printed materials.

In connection with the scam, a criminal case was opened under the articles “illegal banking activities” and “organization of a criminal community (criminal organization) or participation in it.”

The leader of the “black collectors” was arrested
