A Samara businessman will pay half a million rubles for sending out “fake” receipts for housing and communal services payments
The Industrial District Court of Samara on Friday issued a verdict against a businessman accused of producing fake receipts for payment for housing and communal services in the amount of more than 700 million rubles, said the federal judge of the Industrial District Court of Samara Vadim Seliverstov.
The defendant Alexey Rostovtsev was found guilty under the article “fraud committed by an organized group or on an especially large scale” and sentenced to 3 years probation with a probationary period of 3 years, as well as a fine of 500 thousand rubles, V. Seliverstov told the Interfax-Volga region agency .
According to him, the defendant admitted his guilt and compensated the deceived citizens.
In addition, the court took into account the fact that the accused provided assistance to orphanages and churches. At the same time, some of the citizens he deceived asked to commute the sentence.
It was previously reported that in September 2012, police seized 369 thousand fake receipts for payment for housing and communal services, found in one of the garages in Samara. They were made by a 27-year-old Samara businessman. By the time of his arrest, he had already distributed about 30 thousand fakes, of which 48 in the amount of 120 thousand rubles had been paid for.
The counterfeits were similar to the original, but the fakes contained data that had nothing in common with real payment documents - they contained the details of the company registered by the suspect.
