Samara police officers detained five men suspected of drug trafficking; one of the police officers was injured while trying to stop the detainees’ car, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Samara Region reports.
“The night before, on Demokraticheskaya Street, a traffic police inspector stopped a VAZ-2115, in which there were five men suspected of drug trafficking. When operatives approached the car, the driver suddenly pressed the gas,” the report says.
One of the police officers jumped through the driver's door window and grabbed the steering wheel with one hand and tried to pull the key out of the ignition with the other. At this time, passengers beat him and tried to push him out of the car.
“After driving 25 meters, the car hit a high curb and stopped. Five passengers of the fifteenth were detained by police,” the press release says.
One of the detainees was found to have a bag of heroin weighing 6.12 g, and three were previously convicted of drug trafficking.
Currently, the issue of initiating a criminal case under the article “Illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, production, processing of narcotic drugs” is being decided.
The injured detective was hospitalized with injuries of varying severity to one of the hospitals in Samara.
