Biryukov: Moscow subbotnik passes with sparkle

More than a million citizens will come out for cleanup in Moscow, Deputy Mayor for Housing and Public Utilities and Landscaping Pyotr Biryukov expects.

“Today the weather is far from sunny, nevertheless, the cleanup is widespread: 1 million 280 thousand people and about 10 thousand units of various equipment are working on the streets and courtyards of Moscow,” said Biryukov. “The cleanup is carried out with enthusiasm, with a spark.”

According to him, not only housing and communal services workers took to the streets of Moscow, but also ordinary Muscovites, students, volunteers and ordinary enthusiasts. “Everyone has the same goal - to put their hometown in order. Work is being done in courtyards, parks, public gardens, Muscovites are painting fences, removing last year’s leaves from lawns,” says Biryukov.

Starting at midnight, roads are washed with a special “Chistodor” product, shop windows are washed, building facades, public transport stop pavilions, and advertising structures are tidied up.
