On April 22, in Moscow, at the Cosmos hotel, an amazing event took place - a public hearing "Bolotnaya Case. Results of the public investigation." The huge hall could not accommodate everyone, so a broadcast was organized in the foyer.
Political scientist Georgy Satarov made a presentation of the report and noted the professionalism of the working group, which collected more than 600 eyewitness accounts of the events of May 6, 2012, hundreds of photographs, and many hours of video footage of that bloody day.
The Chairman of the Moscow Helsinki Group, Lyudmila Alekseeva, is confident that if we remind the authorities about the prisoners in the Bolotnaya case, the authorities will have to take this into account. And the guys (prisoners) are holding up very well and will definitely go down in Russian history.
Perhaps the most amazing part was the “Word to the Prisoners” - Liya Akhedzhakova and Maxim Sukhanov read letters from prisoners. Few managed to hold back their tears...
In conclusion, the participants listened to musical works performed by the wonderful pianist Polina Osetinskaya, who said the exact phrase she read online: “When instead of right there is lawlessness, then resistance is duty!”
The evening ended with a chant of the word “freedom.”
The commission that prepared the report will continue its work until all prisoners are released.
