For significant information about Sergei Pomazun, who shot six people yesterday in the center of Belgorod, the regional police have offered a reward.
“Any reliable information that will allow the criminal to be apprehended will be rewarded. The confidentiality of the message is guaranteed,” says a message on the website of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Belgorod Region.
More than 1,200 police officers are involved in the operation to search for an armed criminal in Belgorod alone. The search is also being conducted by the police of the Belgorod region and the entire Black Earth Region. Other security forces in the region - border and customs services - are also involved in the case. Information about Pomazun was also transferred to employees of the departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Kharkov, Lugansk and Sumy regions.
The hotline organized by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Belgorod Region received about 50 calls from citizens reporting that they had seen a person similar in appearance to the suspect. All messages were checked, but none of them were confirmed.
On Monday afternoon in the center of Belgorod, a man opened fire on visitors to the Okhota store, and then on passers-by on the street , after which he fled in a BMW car. Six people died.
The identity of the shooter has been established - this is local resident Sergei Pomazun, born in 1981, who has been repeatedly convicted.
On April 23-24, mourning was declared in the Belgorod region. A stand with the names of the victims will be installed at the scene of the execution, Interfax reports. Now city residents come there to lay flowers and light funeral candles.
