In the Samara region, 30 tons of meat waste were dumped on roadsides, containing bacteria dangerous to humans.
The Samara environmental prosecutor's office has identified the organizers of three landfills that dumped a total of 36 tons of pork waste mush in the Krasnoarmeysky and Volzhsky districts of the region, senior assistant to the Samara interdistrict environmental prosecutor Alexey Amzin told the Interfax agency.
“Laboratory studies of pathological material from pig corpses found in illegal landfills revealed the causative agent of pseudomonosis and staphylococcus. Meanwhile, contact with hazardous biowaste and soil could cause fatal diseases in humans and animals, including meningitis and pneumonia,” said A. Amzin.
The prosecutor's investigation established that the director of MIK LLC, which processes pork, agreed with a local resident on the disposal of biowaste. However, the man decided to get rid of the load and dumped more than 30 tons of pork mash on the side of roads in the Samara region.
According to the agency's interlocutor, the location of the alleged offender has been established.
Currently, the waste has been transported for disposal to CJSC Vetutilzavod, which produces meat and bone meal.
The issue of initiating a criminal case is being decided.
