The residential building contained a garment factory, a bank and several shops. Only the first floor remained intact. Rescue work is in full swing; about a hundred residents of the collapsed house may remain under the rubble. Soldiers of the Bangladeshi army are helping the rescuers reach people. Dozens of people gathered at the scene.

It is known that cracks appeared just yesterday - after which the factory and the bank were urgently closed. However, some people still came to work on Wednesday. Authorities have not yet said why the house collapsed.
