The investigative authorities of the Oktyabrsky district of Saratov opened a criminal case against the police captain who caused the accident in which his wife died and he and his minor son were injured.
Anna Marusova, press secretary of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee for the region, told the Interfax-Povolzhye agency that a criminal case was opened under the article “violation of traffic rules, resulting in the death of a person through negligence.”
“The boy, injured in the accident and hospitalized in one of the Saratov clinics, regained consciousness. Doctors assess his condition as stable. Doctors have no fears for the child’s life,” said the agency’s interlocutor.
As reported, on the evening of April 22, in the Oktyabrsky district of Saratov, a local commissioner of police department No. 5, driving his personal Mitsubishi Lancer, lost control and the car crashed into a light pole.
As a result, the policeman's wife, who was in the car, died on the spot from her injuries. The culprit of the accident and his minor son received injuries of varying severity and were hospitalized.
