Last week it became known that the eighth season of the popular animated series Futurama will not be released as planned in 2014. The management of the Comedy Central channel decided not to renew the contract with its creators Matt Groening and David Cohen, who are also the authors of one series “The Simpsons”. It is unknown, however, whether this means the final closure of Futurama. In 2003, the series was already suspended, and no new episodes were released until 2010. The series was later resumed, but now it seems its future is again in jeopardy.

"Futurama" is drawn in the same style as "The Simpsons". With the help of funny and recognizable characters, the creators of the series engage in social and political satire, using references to popular topics in popular culture, media and news. Futurama takes place in the distant year 2999, where the main character, pizza delivery man Fry, finds himself on the night of January 1, 1999. He quickly makes friends - the asocial robot Bender, the mutant Leela, posing as an alien, and other interesting characters, with whom Fry makes interplanetary flights full of misadventures on a delivery service ship.
