Medvedev Daily: The presence of the state is harmful to the economy

It is time to carry out privatization, sounds again in the government. According to Prime Minister Medvedev today, speaking at the final board of the mayor, the presence of the state in enterprises that produce products in the competitive sector of the economy is not only not advisable, but sometimes harmful.

“The public sector remains quite significant, which is far from always appropriate from the point of view of the interests of the state itself. If the company produces products in the competitive sector of the economy, the presence of the state in its management is not always inappropriate, but often harmful, ”the prime minister said.

Medvedev admitted that the presence of the state sometimes restrains the development of enterprises. The head of government also emphasized that it is impossible to endlessly postpone privatization due to poor conjuncture.

“Firstly, there is never a good situation at all, they will always say that in a year, in two there will be other conditions, and then we will not be able to sell something. Then we will not be able to privatize anything, ”Medvedev said.

The prime minister and the topic of exports affected : indicators are “shameful”, so you need to create a modern export support system, but “you cannot create a freebie”.

“I can’t disagree that the issues of exports, some indicators that we have, they cannot be called shameful and cause a feeling of annoyance ... We really need a modern export support system, because somewhere our competitive products do not find a place in those markets where we have traditionally bought or could buy it, and somewhere we do not work properly. <...> I looked at a number of industries, when we begin to pump up, a relaxation begins, and then we take the hand and say that you can’t cook, you are trying to give out completely old samples for new ones and get state support for it. I do not want to offend anyone now, but this problem is in our industrial sector: whether it is industry, defense and a number of other directions. It is necessary not only to create a system, but also to hone warranty mechanisms, but so that there is no feeling that a freebie has returned. ”
