LG will release the world's first curved TV
The Korean company LG is going to release the world's first OLED TV with a curved matrix. It will be made in the form of a semicircle and have a diagonal of 55 inches. TV sales will begin in June 2013.
As noted in the company’s press release, the 55EA9800 model will have only a slightly curved display (a couple of millimeters) and weigh only 17 kg. They also promise an enhanced carbon case - in case of possible falls. As in the case of IMAX cinema, curved corners are needed in the device so that the viewer can enjoy the effect of presence.
TV sales will begin with the American market. It will be sold at once in 14 thousand stores at a stunning price of $ 13,500.
