The “Patient Control” movement has carried out the action in defense of HIV-infected people in the form of a theatrical performance, the Grani.ru correspondent reports. The aim of the action was to call for suppliers of antiretroviral drugs for the treatment of HIV not to tear up state auctions on ARV recreation, including for the treatment of children.
On the shares, the activists of the movement conducted an auction on the lives of children with HIV. All trading was won by AIDS, as the "distributors" refused to participate in them. At the end of the auction, activists tried to meet with representatives of the R-Farm CJSC and give the petition with the requirements. However, they dodged from the meeting.
Watch YouTube “P-Farm”-a large Russian distributor of drugs, which is a leader in the supply market for ARV-drugs and drugs for the treatment of hepatitis C. It accounts for more than half of the ARV market in Russia. The action took place at the company's office.
It was planned to hold the action with offices of other distributors, LLC TsV Protek and Alliance Healthcare. However, as activists noted, difficulties arose with coordination. Representatives of the movement sent official letters to other suppliers of ARV-preparations with an appeal, among other things, make efforts to conduct broken auctions and pursue a fair pricing policy.
After the adoption in December, the corresponding decree of the government of the purchase of drugs for the treatment of HIV and hepatitis is carried out in the regions, and not at the federal level. This has already led to serious problems. In some cases, the announced auctions for the purchase of medicines did not take place. Almost daily reports of treatment for treatment due to lack of drugs appear. Often, ARV preparations are purchased at prices significantly exceeding last year's level.
According to activists, one of the main reasons for these problems is the policy of drug distributors. They overestimate prices, and sometimes simply refuse to participate in auctions. Since the beginning of the year, about 20 auctions have not been held for the purchase of ARV recent, half of which are for the purchase of children's dosage forms.
