On Tuesday, April 30, the Leninsky District Court of Perm handed down verdicts in the case of a fire in the Lame Horse nightclub.
The owner of the Lame Horse nightclub, Anatoly Zak, was sentenced to nine years and ten months in prison. The art director of the nightclub will be imprisoned for six years, executive director Svetlana Efremova - for four years.
Igor and Sergei Derbenev, who used pyrotechnics in a nightclub, will also be imprisoned. The first was sentenced to four years and ten months, and the second was sentenced to five years in a colony.
The Perm court sentenced former inspectors of the regional State Fire Safety Inspectorate, who were accused of negligently conducting fire safety inspections in the Lame Horse. Dmitry Roslyakov was sentenced to five years in a penal colony, Natalya Prokopyeva to four years.
Back in May 2012, the court sentenced Konstantin Mrykhin, commercial director of Lame Horse, to six and a half years in a general regime colony.
The fire at Lame Horse happened on December 5, 2009. 156 people died in the fire. There was a pyrotechnic show in the club, the decoration caught fire. Visitors were unable to escape from the premises because there were no escape routes.
