Three friends of the "Boston terrorist" Johar Tsarnaev, detained on Wednesday, were charged. According to CNN, citizens of Kazakhstan Azamat Tazhayakov and Diyaz Kadyrbaev and US citizen Robel Filippos are accused of helping Tsarnaev to get rid of evidence. Kazakhs threatens up to 5 years in prison for hindering the investigation, and Filippos - up to 8 years old, since he lied to the FBI agents during interrogation. All three are also threatened with fines in the amount of up to 250 thousand dollars.
Kadyrbaev’s lawyer said his client has nothing to do with the attack on April 15. In turn, the defender of Tazhaayakov said that he "fully cooperates with the authorities and hopes to clarify the truth." Tazhayakov and Kadyrbaev are in the United States by student visas, both have problems with the immigration authorities. All defendants are 19 years old.
According to the investigation, about a month before the Tsarnaev terrorist attack, he informed the Kazakh friends that "he knew how to make a bomb." According to Kadyrbaev’s testimony, two days after the Tsaranaev terrorist attack, he changed his hairstyle - he cut his hair briefly. On April 18, when the FBI published a photo of the alleged terrorists, KadyRbaev sent Tsarnaev SMS that he looked like a suspect. Tsarnaev answered "lol" ("I am dying of laughter." - Ed.), And in addition, he wrote: "Go to my room and take everything you want."
In the Tsarnaev’s room, in the hostel of the University of Filippos, Tazhayakov and Kadyrbaev, a backpack with firecrackers was found, from which gunpowder was poured out. According to the investigation, Kadyrbaev at that moment realized that Tsarnaev was involved in the terrorist attack. Friends took the backpack and laptop Tsarnaev and went to the apartment that the Kazakhs rented. At this time, the FBI called the names of the alleged terrorists. According to Kadyrbaev’s testimony, all three decided to throw a backpack and firecracker to help Tsarnaev. The backpack, thrown into the garbage container, was found last week. Filippos admitted that he lied at the first interrogation when he was asked a question about the backpack.
All three suspects in 2011, together with Tsarnaev, entered the University of Massachusetts. Later, Kadyrbaev and Filippos were expelled.
