10 unusual water sculptures

A huge yellow duck appeared in Victoria Bay in Hong Kong May 2. The author of the sculpture 16.5 meters high is the Danish conceptualist Florentein Hofman. In Hong Kong waters, the duck will stay for a month.

In the Gamburg Lake in the summer of 2011, a sculpture "Mermaid" appeared. The 4-meter installation pleased the townspeople for a whole year-until August 2012.

The 20-meter sculpture of the artist and collector Demian Hurst frightened a lot of the British. It was installed on the coast in the resort town of Ilfrakomb (in the south-west of England) in October 2012. A sculpture called Verity (Truth) depicts a pregnant woman with a sword and scales of justice. Most of the citizens were frightened by the fact that if you look at the sculpture on the right side, it resembles a manual for medical students-it is made so that you can see the fruit in the mother’s stomach. Some locals were really outraged by the "immorality" of Hurst and wrote a complaint to the city administration against him.

But if Hurst installed his sculpture in the museum in Cancun (Mexico), it would have reached much less outraged citizens, if only because this museum is under water. It opened in December 2010. The exposition of 400 sculptures is placed to a depth of 2 to 10 meters.

The author of the project "Silent Evolution" Jason Taylor implemented the project in 1.5 years. During this time, he spent 120 hours under water. Taylor, in addition to the sculptor, is also a diving instructor.

Another sculpture, this time half in the water, was found in New Zealand, in the local botanical garden. The author Sam Mahon wanted to show the "confusing reality" of human life. Sculpture, even if this is not visible in the photograph, impressive growth - more than 10 meters.
