On the eve of May 9, veterans of the Great Patriotic War in the Murmansk region received letters from CJSC "Military Memorial Company" (VMK), which reported that they were laid for free funeral at the expense of the state, Flashnord reports.
The local television company TV-21 , which devoted this topic, the report of the veteran of the Second World War of Nina Kuznetsova and her relatives quotes this letter: she became ill from this letter. “It's time for us, it's time to die. And under May 9, we are already sending such letters instead of congratulations,” she said. The same letter came to a neighboring apartment. The veteran’s daughter did not show him to the dad.
Similar letters were received by all Veterans of the Second World War in the Arctic, according to the regional branch of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Russian Post", which was engaged in the delivery of this correspondence.
The Murmansk branch of CJSC "Military-memorial company" said they did not want to upset veterans, but intended to inform them of the due benefits for the funeral.
“This is information about ritual services. Well, what of this? We have, that in the country, the funeral, no? We only die veterans here? Well, funny, true. I didn’t write in the letter“ I am waiting for you ”, excuse me. I wrote what benefits there are,” said the director of the branch Alexander Belikov.
VMK is the largest organization for ritual services in Russia. It makes tombstones for deceased and dead military personnel, military service veterans, participants in the Second World War and other hostilities, disabled people.
It should be noted that something similar before the Victory holiday previously happened in other regions, in particular, Kaliningrad. The same military-memorial company was sadly famous. Moreover, there the director explained his actions by about the same arguments.
