On May 6, an action of solidarity with political prisoners in the notorious “Bolotnaya Case” took place in Chelyabinsk. The rally was timed to coincide with the events that took place a year ago on Bolotnaya Square in Moscow, when a coordinated opposition rally was dispersed by police and riot police, and many of its participants were arrested on charges of “mass riots.”
Speaking to the participants of the rally in support of the “prisoners of Bolotnaya,” I listed by name all the political prisoners in the “Bolotnaya case” and emphasized that as long as repression continues in our country, we have no right to forget about a single person persecuted for political reasons and must continue to demand the release of all prisoners of conscience, regardless of their political views or party affiliation.
In addition, the action raised funds in support of political prisoners, which will be transferred to the “May 6 Committee” , which provides support to those persecuted for political reasons, for subsequent distribution among the “prisoners of Bolotnaya”.
The rally, which, despite being a weekday, brought together more than 100 people, was attended by representatives of Solidarity, RPR-PARNAS, Democratic Choice, Left Front, Pirate Party, civil activists and non-party Chelyabinsk residents.
