Jamie Bonner - a girl with Down syndrome - was adopted by an American family from Utah in Russia. She is one of the last Russian orphans, which were allowed to take the US citizens after the adoption of a law in Russia prohibiting the adoption of children to Americans. The court decision was made in December 2012, and the law entered into force during the 30-day period of waiting for the moment when the family was allowed to pick up the child. Applying Mother Gina Bonner spent a month in Russia, seeking to be allowed to take the girl. Jamie was brought to her new house on February 14.
