How much does one ruble invested in the future of the country cost? If these investments are made in the form of, for example, financing the Olympic Games, you must first evaluate the sign of the value - whether the cost of this ruble is negative. Probably still positive: the infrastructure will remain from the Olympics, which will not fall apart immediately and will have time to benefit. Probably two or three pennies such a ruble costs.

Investments in our future, which Zimin make, is much more difficult to evaluate. How to evaluate the cost of a ruble who has gone to support a young scientist who helped to survive difficult times and stay at home? Or a ruble that went to the publication of a good book? Or to support the ascetics creating incredible museums in the Russian outback? Each ruble of Zimina adds light and air! How to evaluate this?

But there is also a cumulative effect: other very rich people look at Zimin and no, no-and follow his example. True, it doesn’t work out for others, since the soul should also be attached to the money: it is not enough to create a fund, you need to make it a brand, you need to create an atmosphere, collect a talented team, attract authoritative experts, and so on.

The Zimins are always not enough for everyone who deserves their support - nothing can be done about it. Their capabilities are limited - they cannot replace a negligent state. But they can change the atmosphere, return the lost system of values ​​and the belief that it is not yet evening.

Dmitry Borisovich once said about one of the books he read: "If everyone had read this book, the world would have become different." I would like to think that someday a book about Zimin will be written. It is such a property.

Dmitry Borisovich has an anniversary. It is somehow strange that we say good words about a person mainly “about”. But here is the clear case when the good has long been perceived as the norm and only when it is not enough, only then you notice it ... The newspaper “Trinity version is science”, of course (and fortunately!), It’s not alone in its pride in close cooperation with Zimin-after all, the scale of his activity is truly impressive. And we can only wish that these scale only grow, and Dmitry Borisovich himself was still enough for us for all enthusiasm, health, energy and good.
