Alternative communists called on the party to return to the principles of Marxism-Leninism

The alternative city committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation in Saratov issued a statement in which it accuses the current leadership of the party of treason. According to nine signatories, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation has turned into a “purely parliamentary party”, whose work is aimed at obtaining seats in elected bodies of power. According to the head of the Saratov city committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Alexander Anidalov, the main goal of the authors of the letter is to attract attention to themselves. Experts believe that the split in the ranks of the regional branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation only plays into the hands of the current government.

Saratov communists, who joined the “alternative city committee” of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, published a political statement. They accused party leader Gennady Zyuganov of betraying hopes for “building a fair socio-economic system in Russia.” He is accused, in particular, of speaking out against the organizers of the coup in 1993, preventing the unification of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation with the Anpilov-Tyulkin bloc in 1995, refusing the presidency in 1996, and so on. “The degradation of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation has sharply intensified. Convincing proof of this indisputable fact was the last presidential elections, when Zyuganov received almost half as many votes as the list of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation in the Duma elections, which took place literally a few months earlier,” the open statement says.

The work of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, according to the signatories, is aimed exclusively at elections, which led to the fact that the party leaders “fit well into this anti-people, exploitative state system.” And now, they note, the party consists of deputies, their assistants and elderly people, and “there are almost no workers in the party. This is a purely parliamentary party.” City Committee "a" offers several options for getting out of this situation. In particular, return to the principles of Marxism-Leninism, free party leaders from working in elected bodies of state power, fight not for places in power, but with power itself. Otherwise, the signatories believe, they will never wait for the “arrival of renewed socialism”, but will only be able to “ensure a comfortable old age” for the leaders. The statement was signed by nine people. According to one of the members of the city committee “a” Norbert Yegiyan, the statement is addressed to ordinary communists “so that they disconnect from the corrupt course of Zyuganov, Alimova and others like them.” Mr. Yegiyan did not rule out that the city committee “a” could soon develop into a separate party or movement, the main goal of which would be a change in the leadership of the country.

Let us remind you that Mr. Yeghyan announced the creation of an alternative city committee last week. He himself left the party in March, accusing State Duma deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Olga Alimova, regional Duma deputy Sergei Afanasyev and the head of the city committee Alexander Anidalov of loyalty to United Russia. He was supported by eleven communists, including Alexander Grishantsov, Viktor Safyanov, Vladimir Belikov, Vladimir Sobolev, Tatyana Bogatyreva and others.

According to Mr. Anidalov, this statement was written “under dictation.” "I am disappointed. I can understand people who criticize because they really want to introduce some innovations and constructiveness into the work of the party... But these are people who know that all this is a lie. I know these people and style. In order to repeat the stamps that have been issued by the presidential administration for many years now, there was no need to come out with such fanfare. This is done for the sake of fanfare,” he said. Mr. Anidalov does not see anything extraordinary in the fact that a number of party members opposed the main direction. “Every year the party is renewed by ten percent. People just don’t advertise it,” he explained. So far, no decision has been made to expel alternative communists, since, according to Mr. Anidalov, they have not made an official statement to the party bureau, but “if this happens, they will most likely be expelled for factionalism.”

According to political scientist Dmitry Oleinik, the idea of reviving the communist party, building its ideology on the basis of the principles of Marxism-Leninism, is untenable. “Unfortunately, the social base of the proletarian party in modern Russia is absent. The paternalistic needs of society are fully satisfied by the ruling party, and the nostalgic needs are satisfied by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, but in my opinion, there is no desire for joint creative work in society. Most likely, a split in the ranks of the regional branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation will only play into the hands of the ruling party,” he noted.
