As Interfax was told by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Rostov Region, the decision to stop the work was made by a commission chaired by the Vice-Governor of the Rostov Region Sergei Gorban.
According to Marina Chernyavskaya, a representative of the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Rostov Region, there is currently no threat to the lives of the population in the residential areas adjacent to the station. “The number of victims has not changed. There are still 52 of them, of which 18 are hospitalized. Two of those hospitalized are in the intensive care units of the Rostov emergency hospital No. 2 and the SKZD hospital. A group of psychologists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations working in the emergency area provided psychological assistance to 29 local residents who applied.” , noted the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
On Thursday night, when entering the Belaya Kalitva station, a freight train locomotive caught fire and exploded. The carriages went off the rails.
