The alleged agent of the US Central Intelligence Directorate was detained in Moscow by counterintelligence authorities, RIA Novosti reports with reference to statements by the FSB Public Relations Center. According to the FSB, the agent worked under the cover of the third secretary of the political department of the US Embassy.
"On the night of May 13 to 14, the counterintelligence bodies of the FSB of Russia, while trying to recruit an employee of one of the Russian special services, was detained by the personnel employee of the US Central Intelligence Directorate Ryan Christopher Fogl," the FSB Central District Socialist Republic said.
The US ambassador to Russia Michael McFol was called to the Foreign Ministry, RIA Novosti reports. McFol refused to comment on the detention of Fogla. In his microblog to the proposal to confirm or refute the involvement of folla in intelligence, the ambassador answered in one word: "No."

The detainee was taken to the FSB reception and, after carrying out the necessary procedures, was transferred to the official representatives of the US Embassy.
