Depardieu will play Akhmat Kadyrov

The French actor Gerard Depardieu, who received Russian citizenship, will play in two films, the shooting of which will be held in Chechnya. In one of the films, called "Father's Heart", he will act as the father of the current head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, RIA Novosti reports, referring to the French newspaper Le Monde. The publication clarifies that the second film is called "turquoise." This is a criminal thriller about gangsters.

Chechen President Akhmat Kadyrov died on May 9, 2004 as a result of a terrorist attack at the Dynamo stadium in Grozny. From 2000 until the introduction of direct presidential rule in Chechnya, Akhmat Kadyrov headed the local administration, in 2003 he was elected president of the republic.

At the end of last year, Gerard Depardieu abandoned French citizenship, outraged by the plans of the French government to increase tax rates to 75%. He moved to the Belgian city of Neshen on the border with France, where he acquired a house and arranged accommodation. In early January of this year, the actor received a Russian passport, and then the apartments as a gift in Mordovia and Chechnya.
