Photo: ReutersA man who was among the audience during a live evening broadcast from the Cannes Film Festival on the French television channel Canal+ started shooting on the Promenade de la Croisette, reports the French publication Le Figaro .
This man managed to fire two shots, after which the security of the television site, together with the police, quickly neutralized him. When the unknown man was detained, it turned out that his pistol was loaded with blank cartridges. Later they found a dummy grenade on him. No one was hurt. The broadcast was interrupted, and the audience ran out of the set in panic.
After a large number of police arrived and checked the scene, the broadcast continued and ended 20 minutes later than scheduled.
The Canal+ presenter thanked the program participants and the public for not giving in to panic and everyone returning to the site.
