In this case, we are talking about a special generation of parents with whom I have not dealt for a long time: since a very difficult financial situation forced them to take on ANY part-time job and, like a student from 19th-century novels, “run through classes.” Including moving to almost another planet, about a visit to which I still have oral stories from the series “How I went towards Rublyovka.”
I haven’t done this for a long time, and not even for financial reasons - “it doesn’t suit me and I’m not old enough.”
This year I didn’t have any private students at all (I didn’t take one, realizing how much time it takes to work with fifth-graders), but in February I was persuaded to take one little boy who would come to us. For many years we (literature specialists) have not done this for ethical reasons. And then she agreed: the conversation started in February, there was little time until the end of the year, the boy did not go to classes at our school - in general, it is impossible to coach, but it is possible to orient parents and the child (if he is smart).
Since the end of March, we have met five times: either diarrhea, then scrofula, then Maslenitsa, then some event that cannot be rescheduled anywhere, or I was sick. Thoughts appeared: it’s a pity for the holidays, they will ask you to study on the weekend - you will have to come to school...
On Saturday - the day of our lessons with the boy - in the morning at ten I received a text message: “Dear teachers, today Vova is leaving Moscow for the May holidays, from May 12 we will start classes as usual. Sincerely, NN.”
I, ..., went wild - from everything. But most of all - from the newsletter.
And having become enraged, she wrote back: “Thank you for warning me not at 15:00. You don’t have to come to me anymore. I don’t work in this mode.” Even if I have to sew up the creases on my tights again.
