A criminal war between the most cruel and powerful criminal groups M18 and Mara Salvatrucha was suspended in Honduras, BBC television and radio company reports. The agreement on reconciliation was signed by gangsters with the participation of clergymen who acted guarantors of this historical transaction.

It is symbolic that the curious "gangster truly" is signed in the city of San Pedro-Sul, which is considered the most dangerous settlement on the planet. There are 169 murders per 100 thousand people there annually, the Mexican non -governmental organization "Civil Council in the name of public security and justice" reports.

Having concluded an agreement, the bandits asked for forgiveness for a bloody light, during which tens of thousands of people were killed. “We want to ask for forgiveness from society, we want peace with God and with the authorities ... We promise to stop violence,” the leaders of both groups said.

The guarantor of the agreement was the Catholic Church in the person of Bishop San Pedro-Suli Romulo Emiliani and the organization of American states. President of Honduras Porfirio Lobo also announced his support for the peace agreement of the mafia, RIA Novosti reports.

According to Bishop Romulo Emiliani, in 2012 it was possible to reconcile gang groups in Salvador. This has already reduced the number of murders by 52%.

Gangs originated among Latin-American refugees

The criminal group Mara Salvatrucha has its own "handwriting". So, during murders, gang members sometimes cut off their heads or genitals and feed dogs. In addition, they all wear tattoos throughout the body.

The motto of the gangsters from Mara Salvatruch sounds like this: Mata, Viola, Controla, or "Kill, Supreme, subordinate!".

The origin of the name MS-13 is not known for certain. According to some reports, it is deciphered as a street gang of Salvador. The number 13 indicates the corresponding letter of the alphabet, indicating that the group considers himself a follower of the Mexican Mafia clan (Mexican Mafia), operating in Southern California.

The history of the creation of the MS-13 is closely related to the flow of migrants from Latin America, which in the last two decades of the 20th century were massively moved to the United States, running away from poverty and civil wars that tormented their native states. During this period, approximately 2 million Latinos moved to the United States.

Most migrants arrived in Los Angeles, where the community of immigrants from Salvador increased 10 times in the 1980s and reached the number of 300 thousand people.

As the gang’s influence expands, new formations arose on a territorial principle. So appeared the Sailors Locos Salvatruchos, Langley Park Salvatruchos and Teclas Locos Salvatruchos.

In the late 1990s, the police began large-scale persecution of gangsters-illegals, as a result of which many members of the MS-13 were expelled to their homeland. In total, about 20 thousand bandits were deported, experts believe.

The danger of the MS-13 is so great that a few years ago the FBI withdrew from Athens of its leading specialist in counteracting terrorism Robert Clifford, who headed the special unit in combating this "super-bandy" in the US intelligence system.

Mara Salvaturcha successfully acts in Honduras, Guatemala and the seven southern states of Mexico. At the end of the "zero" years, the group strengthened its influence in the Canadian cities of Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto. According to the FBI, the MS-13 thugs appeared even in Europe on the Pyrenees.

The Latin American community itself suffers most of all of the actions of such gangs. Gangsters strive to recruit new members among emigrants from Latin America who speak Spanish.

Mara Salvatrucha is engaged in almost all types of criminal business, from theft and ending with weapons trading. This one of the most cruel South American gangs is operating in the territory of 6 countries. Only according to official figures, 50 thousand bandits of this group operate in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and Salvador, as well as in Spain. And along with the bandits who operate in the USA, the number of groups can reach almost 100 thousand people. However, some experts even talk about 300 thousand members of Mara - this is a whole army of thugs.
