After Sergey Guriev, according to rumors, leaving the post of rector of the Russian Economic School (RASH), it can be headed by Vice -Rector Konstantin Sonin, a source close to the university told Prime . Moreover, as the agency emphasizes, neither Guriev himself nor his assistant yet confirm the information that is widespread in the media about his dismissal. But it is known for sure that he leaves the supervisory board of Sberbank.

The economist, recall, is in France on vacation, which will last until June 7th. Observers did not exclude that he may not return to Russia, given the interest in it from the Investigative Committee. Guriev himself made it clear that his departure is connected with this kind of problem. The day before, he wrote on Facebook : "Everything is already fine with me. Better in Paris than in Krasnokamensk." As you know, in the colony of this city in the Trans -Baikal Territory, Mikhail Khodorkovsky was serving part of the term.

There is a video on the Vedomosti website where Guriev voices his position. “This is a very simple case,” he says. “The court must justify Alexei Navalny, because it follows from the indictment that it, firstly, has nothing to do with the theft of 16 million rubles, and secondly, this theft, in fact, was not there.”

Navalny also writes: “It is well known that recently it has been actively working in order to put pressure on experts who give (and gave earlier) objective and professional examination in fabricated economic affairs. Guriev has repeatedly interrogated one of these cases illegally excited against an expert organization.”
