Enough time has passed since the capital reconstruction of the tram line passing along the streets of Krasnoprudnaya - Rusakovskaya - Stromyanka and Bolshaya Cherkizovskaya ended. As everyone knows well, this was the first line, during the reconstruction of which the ways from the rest of the stream were carried out.
Let me remind you that the reconstruction process led to a transport collapse on Stromynka . All the Shchelkovo highway narrowed into only one lane! In a multi -kilometer traffic there were not only cars, but also public transport.
Let's see if the suffering of the results that were achieved after the reconstruction of the tram line were worth.
The authorities first decided on such a serious step in favor of trams and public transport passengers. Separation gives not only an increase in the speed and stability of the trip time, but also significantly increases the safety of passengers-after all, stopping platforms are now built, and passengers do not have to leave the wagons to the middle of the 3-strip carriage of cars. This, of course, is a movement in the right direction, and in this case it is necessary to regard this reconstruction primarily from the point of view of the passenger of the tram as the main consumer of services. Let's take a walk along the line now and carefully inspect whether everything was done for the convenience and safety of precisely an ordinary passenger.
Let's start with the stop "Metro Krasnoselskaya" (first photo). A new stopping platform has been built here in the paths towards the center. If earlier people, leaving the car, were under the wheels of cars, now, they go to the platform where they expect a green traffic light. But, if you look at the stop in the opposite direction, it turns out that they forgot to build a stop platform ...
It is not clear whether by chance, or by purpose, but the platform is nevertheless absent. The isolation ends exactly before stopping, people go out of the carriage on the roadway, which is very dangerous. This is not order. It was necessary to build a platform and organize a pedestrian crossing to it. Of course, the platform will “eat” part of the roadway, therefore it is necessary to prudently preserve the width of 3 rows for movement, taking 1 meter from the sidewalk, since it is wide here.
In the end, it should be like this:
The next stop "Lesnorezkaya Street". Then the platforms were built on both sides. But, during construction, the stop itself was moved 150 meters to TTK. However, the trams at the new stop do not stop, but continue to plant passengers in an old place that is not at all equipped for these purposes!
This situation creates a trap for passengers and drivers. The fact is that the curb, on which passengers are planted, is so narrow that it is impossible to walk along it, so passengers begin to immediately run through the street. As a result, emergency situations regularly arise. And only you need to instruct the drivers to stop in a new place at the equipped platforms.
The next stop is Sokolniki Metro. This is the most passenger stop on the line. There are always a lot of people sit in trams. The flow of passengers who want to transfer from the subway is significant. And, if the platform was built towards the region, then they “forgot” again in the center!
Passengers should go to the tram through 4 lanes! The stop on the roadway is not indicated in any way. Drivers are shocked by pedestrians suddenly running around the wide roadway. A very indicative frame turned out:
How could you not build a platform at the most popular stop, especially since there is a place?
Although, in a good way, it would be time to reconstruct the entire Sokolnica Square, something like this (but this is a topic for a separate post):
The next stop "Babaevskaya street". Here they generally forgot to build platforms. In one and the other side of the passengers, they are planted on a narrow border or immediately on the roadway.
An additional stupidity is that the stop on the line towards the center is located too close to the previous stop. Therefore, it is logical to transfer it for the intersection and build stopping platforms, not forgetting, while saving 3 rows for travel, for which you have to narrow the sidewalks a little.
The next stop "Malaya Ostroumovskaya Street". Here everything was done correctly. And the stopping platform, and the transition, and the fences were set. True, they are somehow ugly and fixed strangely (but this is obvious due to the lack of experience in such work, I hope everything is ahead).
The ill -fated place of the stromanka is actively expanding. It remains a little already, let's hope that he will be finished for a month, and this is an artificial bottleneck, finally will disappear.

We follow further. On the sailor bridge, tram tracks go on the same level with the roadway, while not separated from the movement of cars. If you separate the line, then the whole. But, since this is difficult on the bridge, you need to at least apply a continuous markup line, and even better to install low -daler borders in size.
The last stop, which will draw our attention - "Preobrazhenskaya Square". In this place, for some reason, the tram tracks did not decide. The landing here occurs immediately on the roadway.
Drivers do not even notice stops and do not stop. In the other direction, a similar situation.
Given the danger of this place, the lack of the possibility of building landing platforms and the expansion of the roadway, as well as the proximity of the location of this place to the Metro Preobrazhenskaya Square stop (and extremely low passenger traffic due to this), we propose to cancel this stop.
We finish this with the infrastructure and move on to the global issue. The main route throughout the highway is the tram number 13. At our proposal from March 1 of this year, its route was extended to Kalanchevskaya Street and significantly increased the frequency of tram movement.
But here is the paradox, the route only works until 21.00. Of course, its work time needs to be renewed to 00.00, as on all normal ground transport routes.
We will summarize.
Of course, the separation of the line is a very important and correct step. In Moscow, there are still dozens of lines that need a similar improvement, therefore, I would like to have experience on the shortcomings of Stromyanka, how to do and what to do. It is especially necessary to pay attention to the fact that even after the completion of the work there are many flaws that need to be corrected.
This post that the reconstruction of tram lines must be considered not just as repair and replacement of rails, but as the basis for the integrated reconstruction of the street: expansion of narrow places, construction of landing platforms, arranging pedestrian crossings to them, if necessary, installing traffic lights, etc. Only in this case will it have a definitely positive impact for all participants in the movement!
The thought expressed in the previous paragraph is very important. Many believe that a tram is a panacea from all transport problems. For example, for some reason it is believed that if you make a tram on Leninsky Prospekt, then all motorists will immediately cross it. The rail system was reconstructed on Stromynka, so what? There were no less cars on the road. Another example: Schukino and Volokolamka. Here you have a tram, and a dedicated strip, and metro. It would seem - this is a paradise for public transport passengers. And people, as they drove in cars, continues to do it. This means that the problem is much deeper than just the lack of a tram.
Let the trolls-commentators think about it, who shouted about the reconstruction of Leninsky yesterday : "Tram, tram!" :-)
