Children adopted by same-sex couples have much more psychological problems than others, Olga Batalina, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children, said in an interview with the Russian News Service .

Thus, according to Batalina, 24% of adolescent children from same-sex families planned suicide. In ordinary families there are no more than 5% of such children, she said. 19% of children raised by same-sex couples need psychotherapeutic help; for heterosexual families this figure is 8%.

“31% of children raised by a lesbian mother and 25% of children raised by a homosexual father were forced into sex, including by their parents,” Batalina said.

When asked by a journalist what would be preferable for a disabled child with AIDS, for example, to end up in a same-sex family or to stay in an orphanage, the deputy replied: “Definitely not a same-sex couple.”

On June 13, the State Duma committees on family issues, women and children, and international affairs will meet to jointly discuss the idea of ​​banning the adoption of Russian orphans by foreign same-sex families.
