Said Amirov left as a drug lord

When the first rumors began to circulate that Abdulatipov would be appointed acting, I said that local officials were seized with a slight tremor. That they won’t be able to “tolerate” him for a long time, unless, of course, he replaces them all at once. And they lost sleep not from the understanding that the new broom will begin to take a new revenge, in the sense of firing all the old ones and appointing new people, everyone believes in their exclusivity, but from the fact that stealing will become more difficult and dangerous. And for those who have already stolen enough, an unambiguous prospect awaits them. And not because he is such an unusually honest and fair person, although I have no reason to doubt these qualities of his, but because it is the real reliance on justice and honesty that is the only thing that keeps him in this difficult position, in such a unique region , will hold. Now, after many months, it has become obvious that I was not mistaken. They are really trying to “squeeze” him out of the republic. He disrupted the established order there over the past twenty destructive years for Dagestan. The world order of the Dagestani corrupt officials has been disrupted, and it has been seriously and, I hope, irrevocably disrupted. Moreover, now the ground under their feet was on fire. How long have we waited for this!

I must admit, I was still waiting for some major provocation. So far, thank God, it has passed, except for a few explosions. I catch myself thinking that in relation to Dagestan, explosions with several victims are no longer perceived as such a big tragedy.

No matter how much I listened to Dagestani politicians, officials and other power establishments, fear of their visiting (returning) fellow countrymen was always present as a red thread in their speeches. As they are also called - Varangians. They scribbled! They have already started to arrive!

Whatever they called them: outcasts without clan and tribe, who had lost ties with their peoples. And that they squandered the cultural code of their peoples. That they want to come and appropriate all the national property of the Dagestanis (oligarchs are no exception). But no matter how they tried to veil their fears, what they stemmed from was obvious. They felt inferior compared to the so-called marginalized people. And they were told that, unlike the “marginals,” you grew up in a perverted political value system. And this is their, “marginal”, great competitive advantage.

In a word, they were always afraid that one fine day all these well-educated, with classical universal values, with a sincere attitude towards people and an honest outlook on life, “marginals” would arrive, at the same time having a good knowledge of modern political, economic and cultural realities, and would not disturb their order and tranquility. They would not break their established system of deformed values. Their fears began to come true. And Abdulatipov needs to take smart guys from everywhere at any cost. Only visitors are able to give Dagestan a decent appearance. And not because they are smarter than the locals. Because they have less cynicism.

These people understood perfectly well that it was not easy to fight them, the “outcasts.” The only thing they could really “hit” them with was to call them people alien to the Dagestan mentality. In the hope of removing them from the cultural, and then from the political field in the minds of people. Thus, try to “neutralize” their possible return.

At one time, Stalin distinguished such “outcasts” from the rest of the people with the epithet “enemies of the people.” And, as far as possible, he also took them out of people’s sight, and completely.

Recently we “celebrated” a milestone anniversary - one hundred days from the date of Abdulatipov’s appointment as acting president. It’s probably time to draw some preliminary conclusions about the benefits of its use. And there is something to celebrate. Of course, the crown of his achievements over these hundred days is undoubtedly the dismissal of Said Amirov.

The fact that Abdulatipov began his policy in a radically different way than all his predecessors is a fact. The main stumbling block in Dagestan politics is the personnel issue. The fate of the president largely depended on who was appointed where and under whose patronage. No one could appoint anyone anywhere without the approval of the political balance-keeping clans. And he, indeed, makes appointments not based on what clan this or that applicant for the position represents, but on whether he is suitable or not for the given position, whether he is capable of solving the tasks assigned to him exactly as Dagestan needs him , and I should note, completely free. That is, decide honestly and professionally. And the unfit should be mercilessly fired. This is nonsense for modern Dagestan.

Now, finally, it’s Said Amirov’s turn. It was necessary to start with him. The most powerful clan of Dagestan was beheaded. There is no doubt that, among other things, the acting acting director is behind his dismissal. I don’t think this decision was spontaneous for him. I have no doubt that “dismissing Amirov” was one of his conditions when he agreed to the Kremlin to lead Dagestan. He understood, and anyone who has the slightest understanding of politics should know that there cannot be “two” presidents. Someone had to leave. And, as a rule, the one who has the weakest power leaves. Abdulatipov is no longer the same weak Russia. She has already gotten stronger. She is definitely already stronger than she was in those years when personalities like Amirov climbed to the political and criminal Olympus.

And Abdulatipov also has the people’s hopes and aspirations for justice. All good hopes are and will be placed on him until he proves that they are in vain. We hope it doesn't prove it.

Of course, such a figure as Said Amirov could not be fired as standard. Although, they say that he was offered to leave as soon as possible. Worthy. He didn’t want to, didn’t believe that they would dare to touch Amirov. So they found an unworthy method for him. They staged a little action in broad daylight, scaring the crap out of unsuspecting housewives. Although this method is often used for “non-standard” people. All caught drug lords in Latin America were arrested in approximately the same way.

But he himself is to blame for all this. I should have left on time. The ability to leave on time, and in general, to understand when it came “on time” is a great instinct and courage. Not everyone has it. He simply did not understand that Dagestan, in connection with the Olympics in the Caucasus, which was important for Russia, and not only because of it, was taken seriously. He is undoubtedly a cunning and cautious man. But here he could not smell the smell of change. Apparently he has lost his political sense. Either from great faith in one’s own strengths, or from faith in Dagestan’s own exclusivity.

It may have been beneficial for Makhachkala and Dagestan. But only in the first ten years. Approximately ten years is the period empirically established throughout the world when any official can be useful. Then there is only harm.

He was one of the most influential, but at the same time the most “harmful” personalities for Dagestan. It was his presence in power, not even in power, but simply his presence in Dagestan, that made the establishment of legality there an almost impossible task. It was its presence that undermined faith in the state and the rule of law. All thefts and lawlessness, and other outrages, occurred solely from the understanding that the state is not the supreme power in the republic, but dubious individuals. Which, by the way, had all the attributes of statehood - an army, their own courts, big finances, etc. There was always the opportunity, if anything, to “get away.” You bowed to him, gave him your share and your problem was solved.

It will be a sure sign that times are changing for the good for Dagestan if this arrest takes place without provocations “worthy” of it. I hope it works out. Although, I think that the clans that operated with money on such a scale cannot easily give up power. Now that the decision has been made with Amirov, there may be a possibility that the interethnic balance in power and among officials will be disrupted. Amirov, indeed, created a feeling of interethnic balance in great power. This was his only advantage. But its disadvantages more than canceled out this advantage.
