Do you know how the science differs from pseudoscience? This is obvious: pseudoscience is based on provisions that cannot be tested, it is constantly busy with the proof that it is science, it replaces causes and consequences, faith and knowledge. But the main thing is that it is always beneficial to those who are engaged in it, although sometimes it is not directly beneficial, but indirectly. We live in an amazing time! Who could imagine a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the director of Pabsis-one of the best botanical gardens in the country who writes that it is necessary to destroy harmful and ugly plants, not to mention animals. That double Latin names of living creatures are the machinations of Protestants.
It is not surprising that it was published in a scientific journal [1], and not even that the scientific academic community remained silent about this for about a year, but that it has many supporters. Yes, of course, you can understand the technical personnel of the institute that supports the authorities, but how to explain the active support of exotic, softly in the ideas of the director by researchers? How to understand why, in response to doubts about the existence of Orthodox science, they begin to scream about the persecution of believers? Every now and then in the media is raised a provocative question: can a scientist believe in God?
Certainly! And even the head of the state institution. But only until it is his personal matter. So far, he does not make subordinates dependent on his ideas about the universe.
It sounded more than once that the director of Pabsis V.K. Fat is an informal "intermediary between the patriarchy and the Russian Academy of Sciences." God, save the academy from such intermediaries! However, from the botanists, the assessment of the scientific and religious revelations of V.K. Zhirov was still given, which, it would seem, for a while, was calm down by his unbridled missionary work [2, 3].
But it wasn’t there. Now he has been engaged in applied psychiatry. The field of scientific activity was the “environmental therapy of persons suffering from nervous and mental disorders” [4-6]. It was for these purposes that a laboratory of ecotherapy and educational programs was created in the botanical garden. Its tasks: “Development of theoretical foundations of a specialized landscape design; Assessment of the possibilities of the integrated use of collection funds and the scientific achievements of PABSI in the development of specialized programs and the study of the possibilities of correcting the psychophysiological condition of patients with methods of environmental therapy ”[7]. These works are carried out within the framework of the budget theme “Development of PABSI collection funds in connection with the prospects for studying the adaptation and practical use of introducers in the Kola North”. A generalization of the results of the scientific activity of the laboratory was like this: “The main result of the three-year work of the polar-alpine-Institute of Institute was the creation of a rehabilitation program“ Ecotherapy ”, designed to reduce the severity of psychoneurological defects in socially non-adaptive patients with impaired mental and physical activity.” And one more thing: “The program is designed for 10 classes with a frequency of 1 time per week on the territory of PABSI using collection funds” [8].
Not even funny. Scary. Methods of treating people suffering from nervous and mental disorders are created and tested by not psychiatrists, but employees of the botanical garden. In the article [4], among the common words about high social significance and references to the American Association of Garden therapists, a long table is given (one and a half pages of the article!), Which listed “Plant and animal objects used in the Ecotherapy program. There are more than fifty of them. In each line - the Russian name, the Latin name and the number of the lesson. For example: "Ordinary eggplant - Solanum melongena L. - 6". Even among the points of the scientific program - “Overcoming disgust in contact with small rodents”, “Feeding animals with grass” and “Production of origami of the hare”. The methodology for assessing the effectiveness of therapy is simple: the patient is shown to the patient and determine the reserves of the cardiovascular system using a cardihytmographer ... and the assessment shows the “predominance of cerebral-ergotropic and/or humoral-metabolic influences” to ecotherapy and the “pronounced balance between the parameters of sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system”-after it.
A wonderful, unique, one of the best botanical gardens of our country in front of our eyes turns into a Refugium for people who have not found themselves in real science. However, science cannot be real and fake. There is science and nonsense. Paranaca. Pseudoscience. As you like! I don’t feel sorry for her money? .. They are not from our pocket, but state? ..
We are branded businessmen and officials who stole billions, trying not to notice that cautious citizens who have their geshefts in seemingly purely intangible areas, such as art and science, live next to us. They do not steal, no! They receive state funding for the development of science and healthcare, as it were, socially oriented programs, operating - but in reality, more and more destroying - the trust of society in scientists and in academic science.
