New round of patent war: Apple may prohibit the sale of part of their products in the United States

We are talking about the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad 3G, iPad 2 3G and iPad 3 models - the truth is only if the gadgets are connected to the largest US AT & T mobile operator. Since these devices are assembled in China and Taiwan, their imports may be prohibited: the trading regulator carefully monitors the compliance of the goods made abroad, the Associated Press notes.

The ban will enter into force if Barack Obama does not impose a veto on him, and he can do this within 60 days. As you know, the American president opposes the ban on imports on the basis of patent violations, as in this case. On the eve of the White House asked Congress to limit the possibility of imposing imports in patent disputes.

The decision of the trade commission became unexpected for Apple, since in September last year the judge of the trading regulator has already made a decision that the company did not violate Samsung patents. The South Korean company, on the contrary, inspired the current decision: this is her first victory in the patent war with Apple. Two companies are firmly competing with each other for a share in the world market of mobile devices and conduct litigation in ten countries. Last year, Apple sued Samsung $ 1 billion for compensation for violation of the patent, but then the court reduced the payment of up to $ 450 million.

"Samsung adheres to a strategy that has already been rejected by courts and trading regulators around the world, as it is directed against consumer interests. But in the USA Samsung continues to try to block the sale of Apple products using patents that could be licensed for everyone who will offer a reasonable fee," Apple said.

Since the ban concerns outdated models, some of which are no longer produced in the United States, Apple should not bear serious damage due to imposed sanctions, Kommersant notes. The company itself is always going to appeal the decision of the commission and assures customers that it will not affect the accessibility of Apple products in the United States.
