In the banking reports for April, an abnormally high influx of individuals of individuals was found to the accounts "on demand". April is traditional - the time when bonuses are paid for the previous year and part of the payments for the current one, but there was no such jump.
In the last three years, the increase in funds in current accounts in April has been on average 2.5 times higher than in the previous six months, but this time the growth turned out to be almost five times: 9% against average 1.9% for the previous six months, the Vedomosti claims.
This brought to banks an additional 100 billion rubles compared to the usual jump, Dmitry Miroshnichenko calculated from the Center for the Development of the Higher School of Economics.
The sudden increase in funds in the accounts was caused by record bonuses paid in Russian jurisdiction, concludes Miroshnichenko: "Apparently, the creation of schemes using alternative Cyprus of jurisdictions was not easy to implement in such a short time, so it was decided to pay the due here, but now."
Almost half of the “surplus” entered Sberbank, a little more than a third-to Raiffeisenbank and St. Petersburg Bank, about a tenth received Alfa-Bank and Gazprombank, I counted Miroshnichenko.
Top management, as a rule, can choose an account for which an annual bonus is credited. Most managers this year simply did not transfer money to other jurisdictions, including Cyprus. The crisis in Cyprus, and the situation with banking secrets in Switzerland definitely influenced their preferences.
The Cyprus crisis and the European struggle with offshore led to the opposite flight of capital: according to the Central Bank, from Cyprus to Russia in favor of individuals, $ 1.9 billion was received in the first quarter - almost 7 times more than in the first quarter of 2012. True, the reverse stream also increased: $ 1.4 billion against 0.8 billion a year earlier took to Cyprus and Switzerland.
