The police, together with the FSB and the FMS, detained several hundred people today in a prayer room in the south-east of Moscow, Interfax reports .
“In the Pechatniki district, law enforcement officers conducted searches in a prayer room, as a result of which 300 people were detained, 170 of whom are foreign citizens,” the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Moscow told Interfax.
According to the representative of the head office, all of them were taken to the territorial police departments for further investigation.
“During the searches, literature was confiscated, which will be checked for the content of extremist appeals in the texts,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
