The transfer of foreign assets by the leader of the Civil Platform party Mikhail Prokhorov in trust management to participate in the upcoming elections of the Moscow Mayor contradicts the legislation. According to RIA Novosti, the head of the State Duma Committee on Security and Combating Corruption Irina Yarovaya made such a statement.

On Friday, the Rain television channel said that the owner of the ONEXIM group Mikhail Prokhorov will be able to run for mayor, as he manages to re -register foreign assets - such conclusions are contained in the examination, which was prepared for the billionaire by the legal company.

"Information that appeared in the media about the desire of Mikhail Prokhorov to transfer his assets to partners by proxy with the aim of participating in the Moscow elections contradicts the current legislation," Yarovaya said. According to her, "the loophole of trust management was blocked by law."

The “Civil Platform claims that it has not yet been made a final decision on the candidate, and most likely they will present it next week. The Internet publication Znak.com, citing a source in the presidential administration, reported that the candidate from the election of the capital mayor may become not the oligarch himself, but his sister Irina, the founder and head of the New Literary Review Publishing House.

The early elections of the Moscow Mayor will be held on September 8 on a single voting day. On Tuesday, the capital's mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced his intention to resign. On Wednesday, the resignation was adopted by President Vladimir Putin. At the same time, he appointed Sobyanin the acting mayor.

The powers of Sergei Sobyanin expired in the post of mayor of Moscow in 2015. The media showed assumptions that the decision to resign and go to early elections was due to the desire to reduce the deadlines for the election campaign for the rest of the candidates.
