The purpose of the crime was the investigation was called the "provision of psychological impact" on the chairman of the election commission for the unhindered election of Father Palkin to the post of head of the administration. Palkin Sr. lost the election.
In November 2010, after a massacre in Kushchevskaya, Vadim Palkin was tested on a polygraph, after which he was involved as a suspect and gave a confession in the murders, which he later abandoned. Valery Palkin, Father Vadim Palkin, during the investigation said that his son and his alleged accomplices were recognized in committed crimes under the influence of threats and violence by law enforcement officials.
During the process with the participation of the jury, which was in the regional court since December 2012, the defense and the defendants themselves defended the version of their complete innocence. They argued that the prosecution is built exclusively on the testimony of the defendants themselves, who have repeatedly changed and contradict each other. Representatives of the prosecutor’s office, in turn, insisted on proved guilt of the defendants, without bringing a large number of arguments.
The prosecutor's office intends to appeal the acquittal, which will be issued on June 17 on the basis of the jury verdict. A lawyer representing the interests of the victim of Hope Tsapok will also file a complaint with the Supreme Court. The victim Tsapok said in court that she always knew about involvement in the death of her son Nikolai Vadim Palkin, but was afraid to tell about it.
