
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against the operatives of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Central Federal District of Mikhail Kirichenko and Sergey Martyanov. As reported on the website of the department, 33-year-old Kirichenko and 39-year-old Martyanova are charged with part 3 of Article 30, part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (attempted fraud on an especially large scale).
According to the investigation, on May 30, the senior operative officer for particularly important cases of the 2nd department of the CPE Major Kirichenko and the operative for particularly important cases of the same department, Lieutenant Colonel Martyanov, searched one of the commercial firms of Moscow. According to Lifenews, it was the management company Rook Plus. The company was suspected of illegal cashing of large amounts of money, as well as in tax violations. The operatives came to the company on behalf of the investigator of the Tagansky OP.
During the search, Kirichenko and Martyanov demanded a bribe of 2 million rubles from the general director of the company. Otherwise, they promised, the investigator will achieve the closure of the company or the suspension of its activities. After the bargain, the amount of the bribe was reduced to 1.3 million rubles, of which the general director immediately paid 500 thousand.
On Monday evening, operatives arrived for the next trenches - 600 thousand rubles. Kirichenko was detained, Martyanov managed to hide. It is now being wanted.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Central Federal District reported that both operatives have already been dismissed from the police. The head of the 2nd department of CPE will also be dismissed, and the head of the center will be a warning about incomplete official compliance.
