More than 300 supporters and opponents of the anti-LGBT law gathered at the State Duma

More than 300 people gathered near the State Duma building, where two bills will be considered today - against “homosexual propaganda” and on protecting the feelings of believers, a PublicPost correspondent reports.

By 11:00, opponents of LGBT people had gathered at the State Duma - about 300 people with posters. On the social network VKontakte they gathered participants for this action, and they promised to pay 300 rubles to everyone who came .

Around noon, LGBT activists are going to start the "Kissing Day 4" campaign. Past actions of this kind have resulted in clashes with the police and arrests.

Now the police have cordoned off Okhotny Ryad Street, where the State Duma is located. The paddy wagons are parked on the next street. When asked by a PublicPost correspondent whether the protests were coordinated, the police officer replied that he knew nothing, “people just came and stood.” However, now the police lined up in a chain and began to push those who came further away from the State Duma.

The term “homosexuality” has disappeared from the anti-LGBT bill; now this law provides for fines for “propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations” - 4-5 thousand rubles for citizens, for officials - from 40 to 50 thousand rubles, for legal entities from 800 thousand to a million rubles or suspend their activities for up to 90 days.

To support the law on protecting the feelings of believers, several girls came to the State Duma building, who told a PublicPost correspondent that they heard on the radio about today’s Duma meeting, so they decided to come. According to the girls, they did not know about any actions.
