But in the central business district of the city, the rates are even higher - $870 per sq. m. per year. There are only five cities in the world where offices are more expensive than Moscow ones: Hong Kong, London, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro and Paris, according to analysts from Colliers International .

A square meter in Hong Kong, Asia's largest financial center, is valued almost twice as much as in the Russian capital - $1,711 per year. This is the highest rental rate for class A office space in the world. London is in second place: in the West End, 1 square meter is rented out for $1,490 per year on average. Tokyo is in third place, where 1 square meter in a quality office is rented for $1,100 per year. Rio de Janeiro also managed to cross the $1,000 per square meter per year threshold: it was valued at $1,006 per year. Parisian landlords are more democratic: the average rate for a class A office in the French capital does not exceed $930 per year.

Close to Moscow are Perth in Australia with $843 per sq. m/year and Beijing in China - $739 per sq. m/year, Sao Paulo in Brazil - $737 per sq. m per year, Singapore - $714 per sq. m per year, Sydney in Australia - $689 per sq. m per year, Stockholm in Sweden - $729 per sq. m per year and Geneva in Switzerland - $704 per sq. m per year.

There are many more cities where rental rates are an order of magnitude lower than in Moscow. For example, for the price of 1 sq. m in Moscow, you can rent 2.3 sq. m in New York, 4 sq. m in Athens and Bordeaux, 5 sq. m in Antwerp, 6 sq. m in Dallas and 7 sq. m in Baltimore.
