In Nizhny Novgorod, a group relaxing on a picnic was struck by lightning, one person died, and four more received burns, reports the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the region.
The incident occurred on June 12 at about 15:00 Moscow time on Korablestroiteley Avenue in the Sormovsky district of the city, where a group of Nizhny Novgorod residents were relaxing and preparing barbecue on the grill.
A man born in 1981 died as a result of a lightning strike, and four others - three women and one man - were hospitalized with burns.
According to preliminary data, lightning struck the grill, a source in the region's law enforcement agencies told Interfax .
